Other:  Demerera Sugar, Whole Black Pepper


Brewer's Notes: Mousqueton was Batch #8 (and #9) on our brewhouse.  It was our first 15 bbl batch, and the first time we brewed it, we didn't actually have glycol installed at the brewery.  We had no way of chilling our tanks. Of course, it was a hit.


Some fun facts:  It was the first beer for which we used spices in whirlpool, and we stupidly just dumped black pepper in -- which meant weeks of back flushing black peppercorns out of our heat exchanger.  Mousqueton is the base recipe for the beer we later made with the Glass Jug: Triple Ginger Tripel, which has easily been one of our most successful beers.


The recipe has been updated a bit for the 2016 release. We have temperature control now, and we're better at using spices.  This version got a little bit of rye to help flesh out the spicy black pepper character.


Mousqueton is a character from the Three Musketeers.  He is Porthos's lackey.
