Brewer's Notes: The base sour for this beer was our normal Mythos recipe, but made with some more plain base malt, and I'd be lying if I said that after fermentation the sour straight out of the barrel wasn't a little... one note.
I was trying to figure out what to do with it when we got a visit from Cedar Ridge Blueberry Farm who had a lot of hail damaged blackberries that they couldn't sell at the Farmer's Market. We took a bunch off of their hands and threw it into the barrels for the Brett to munch on.
It still need a little extra something, though, so when Michael was trying to figure out what to do with this enormous thai basil plant, we said - bring it on in! And he did. The whole plant. It still had bees in it when he pulled this Thai Basil tree out of his car.
Together, it's made a beautiful beer. It's tart and juicy with a spicy basil/cinammon nose and all the makings of a complex cocktail.
You can only find it on draft at our Pub!
