The current positions are open at Mystery Brewing Company:

 

Brewer/Cellar Operator

 

We are a five-year-old seasonal-only brewery heavy on variety and brewing outside the box.  Ideal candidates are strong team players with at least one to two years experience in a production brewery environment. While a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology/Chemistry/Food Science or a brewing certificate from a reputable source is desirable, it is not required if a candidate can display sufficient knowledge and experience.

This is a full-time position with hourly compensation, health insurance, PTO, opportunities for professional development, and a flexible schedule in a fast-paced and ever-changing work environment.

 

Desired skills include, but are not limited to:

 

• Grain, hops, and yeast handling, receipt, and storage

• Experience handling and maintaining multiple yeast strains

• Manual brewhouse operation from mash-in to cold wort production

• Fermentation, pitching yeast, and dry hopping/tank additions

• Experience with brewery analytical instrumentation – pH meters, hemocytometers, microscopes, refractometers, etc. required

• Follow a flexible production plan and anticipate and manage work load

• Perform CIP/SIP and associated chemical handling and documentation

• Participate in QA/QC as needed

• Excellent written and oral communication

• Participation in development and maintenance of SOPs and job-aids

• Ability to communicate with the entire brewery team

• Proficiency in MS Office required; Ekos proficiency a plus

• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs

• Forklift operation, certification preferred

• Ability to grow into new roles in the company

Line Cook

 

Do you like cooking seasonally appropriate meals with fresh, local ingredients? Do you enjoy being creative and designing your own dishes? We're looking for line cooks to join our Public House kitchen team.

 

Duties:

 

  • Knowledge of fresh and local food preparation.
  • Ability to execute detailed directions from the kitchen manager/chef.
  • Comfortable helping create new menu items.
  • Maintain a clean workspace and kitchen environment.
  • Thoroughly understand Mystery's seasonality and explain and evangelize the concept to others.

 

Requirements:

 

  • Must have experience in kitchen management
  • Must have your own vehicle, driver's license, and clean driving record.
  • Interest in great food and beer.
  • Must own your own set of knives.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be available on evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • 30+ hours/week.

 

Hourly compensation.
